A Spring of Water Welling Up to Eternal Life

LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
August 23, 2020 at 1:00 pm
orship of the Triune God is our most important duty. John 4:23-24 says that God seeks those who worship Him in spirit and truth. As you worship today, purpose to enter fully into the praise offered by singing, in joyful giving of tithes and offerings, in prayer, and in carefully listening to God speak through the reading and preaching of His Word. May our sovereign Lord receive glory as you actively worship Him.

Call to Worship Psalms 99:2,3,5,9
The LORD is great in Zion; He is exalted over all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name! Holy is He!...Exalt the LORD our God; worship at His footstool! Holy is He!...Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy mountain; for the LORD our God is holy!

Confession of Faith Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Preparation for Confession of Sin 1 Timothy 1:15
(WCF Chapter XV, section V; Men ought not to content themselves with a general repentance, but it is every man’s duty to endeavor to repent of his particular sins, particularly.)
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.
Confession of Sin
Assurance of Pardon 1 Timothy 1:16-17
But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
