The desires of the flesh...and the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father

LORD’S DAY WORSHIP
November 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm
Worship of the Triune God is our most important duty. John 4:23-24 says that God seeks those who worship Him in spirit and truth. As you worship today, purpose to enter fully into the praise offered by singing, in joyful giving of tithes and offerings, in prayer, and in carefully listening to God speak through the reading and preaching of His Word. May our sovereign Lord receive glory as you actively worship Him.

Welsh and English Hymns and Anthems (Reformatted) #89
Grant me the Peace—beyond all earthly knowing—
The gentle Peace that came through Boundless Woe;
And from the Cross, on waves adversely beating
Against my soul, may Jesus calm bestow.
O! Grant the Peace whereby I would be willing
On earth to do God’s work, without dismay;
Devoid of fear and confidently dwelling
In God the Father’s love, throughout my day.
Call to Worship* Psalm 30:1-5a
I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit. Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.

Confession of Faith Westminster Confession of Faith 20-2 & 3
WCF 20:2 God alone is Lord of the conscience, and has left it free from the doctrines and commandments of men, which are, in any thing, contrary to His Word; or beside it, in matters of faith, or worship. So that, to believe such doctrines, or to obey such commands, out of conscience, is to betray true liberty of conscience: and the requiring of an implicit faith, and an absolute and blind obedience, is to destroy liberty of conscience, and reason also.
WCF 20:3 They who, upon pretense of Christian liberty, do practice any sin, or cherish any lust, do thereby destroy the end of Christian liberty, which is, that, being delivered out of the hands of our enemies, we might serve the Lord without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
Preparation for Confession of Sin Micah 7:18
Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love.

Assurance of Pardon Micah 7:19
He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
