“Could I Recount My Great Transgressions”

Could I recount my great transgressions, were I to number them ne’er would I cease f

rom gathering droves of guilt unfailing. Endless accusers make sweet my release.

Jesus, Jesus worthy is He. Granting so great a salvation to me.

Solus Christus now is my plea. Robed in His righteousness, innocent, free.

Tremble Golgotha, see God’s fury. Slaying my Savior, my Lord and my King.

A wonder, a mys-t’ry is God’s mercy. Through all eternity this will I sing.

Jesus, Jesus worthy is He. Granting so great a salvation to me.

Solus Christus now is my plea. Robed in His righteousness, innocent, free.

Call to Worship*                                                    Psalm 149:1-2, 9b

Hallelujah! Yah! Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the godly. Let Israel be glad in his Maker! Let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!... This is an honor for all His godly ones. Hallelujah! Yah!

Confession of Faith                                                 The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things
visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.  Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.  And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of our sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

 Amen.

Preparation for Confession of Sin                     1 Corinthians 3:1-3

But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?
