“God Himself Is With Us”

God himself is with us; let us now adore Him,

and with awe appear before Him.

 God is in His temple—all within keep silence,

prostrate lie with deepest reverence,

 Him alone God we own, him, our God and Savior;

praise His name forever.

God himself is with us; hear the harps resounding!

See the crowds the throne surrounding!

“Holy, holy, holy” hear the hymn ascending,

angels, saints, their voices blending!

Bow thine ear to us here: hear, O Christ

the praises that thy church now raises.

O thou fount of blessing, purify my spirit;

trusting only in thy merit,

Like the holy angels who behold thy glory,

may I ceaselessly adore thee,

And in all, great and small, seek to do

most nearly what thou lovest dearly.

Call to Worship*                                                        Psalm 9:7-10

The Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.  And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Invocation*

Confession of Faith                     Ephesians 1:3-12

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight

making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
