The Power of Proclamation

Speaker: Adrian Das Series: Jonah Topic: Expository Scripture: Jonah 3:1–10

“Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed..”

Call to Worship*                                        1 Chronicles 16:8-11

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!

“All You That Fear Jehovah’s Name”

Confession of Faith                                    The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life  everlasting.

Preparation for Confession of Sin                 James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

Blessing*                                                                Jude 1:24-25

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty , dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

May the grace of Christ our Savior

And the Father’s boundless love,

With the Holy Spirit’s favor,

Rest upon us from above.

Thus  may we abide in union

With each other and the Lord,

And possess, in sweet communion,

Joys which earth cannot afford.
