6:15-7:00 pm Session 1: Introduction
The word "heart" is one of the most used words in the Bible to describe the unity of our inner self, much like the words "soul" and "spirit." But the heart is different in that it also captures the complexity of our thinking, desires, and decisions; that is, what we know, love and choose.
7:00-7:15 pm Break & Snacks
7:15-8:15 pm Session 2: Knowing--The Mind of Your Heart
Bible students may be surprised to discover how often Scripture uses the word "heart" to describe our thinking. The mind of the heart is deeply impacted by sin. But it is also renewed by Christ, our prophet, who works in us by his Word and Spirit. Our faith is built upon what we know, which enables us to resist the lie that we can know anything for certain.

Saturday

9:00-9:15 am Welcome & Singing
9:15-10:15 am Sessions 3: Loving--The Desires of Your Heart
The things we want, crave, long for, feel and love express the desires of our hearts. All our emotions cascade upon us when those desires are fulfilled or denied. Sin has its way with us as the desires that God intended for good, become perverted for evil. Thankfully, Christ’s priestly work is about renewing and purifying the desires of our heart.
10:15-10:30 am Break & Snacks
10:30-11:30 am Session 4: Choosing--The Will of Your Heart
The heart chooses or refuses, resolves or resigns, and is stubborn or submissive, depending upon where the strength or weakness of our heart lies. Sin shows its face as rebellion or powerlessness when obedience is called for. Our hope is in Christ the king, who subdues and rules the will of his people, so that they say “no” to sin and “yes” to his will.
11:30-12:30 pm Lunch
12:30-1:30 pm Session 5: Keeping--The Gatekeepers of Your Heart
Scripture says, if you are going to “keep your heart,” then you need to enlist the “gatekeepers” of the eye and the ear. Almost everything that passes into your heart is either through what you see or what you hear. Nothing could be more relevant for us who live in a culture that is addictively audio-visual. Nothing could be more comforting for us who live by God’s promise that “the Lord is your keeper.”
